India 1949 Slogan Mark First
Flight Cover
| The first cover, personal mail from the town of Nagpur, is a first flight
cover commemorating the inaugural flight of Inland Night Airmail from Nagpur to Delhi. |
| The stamps used are the 1a and 1½a George VI issues of British India
(India was still a Dominion, not a Republic). The cover was redirected subsequently
from New Delhi to Lucknow. Delivery markings in the back indicate that the cover
was in Delhi before noon the next day. |
| The slogan Sabko Sanmati De Bhagwan is in the front of the
cover, in Devanagiri Script (Hindi). |
