In India, there was Gandhi related commemorative postal stationery issued in 1951, which included four picture postal cards- a first from the Indian P&T Department.

Between the Gandhi memorial stamps issued by India in 1948 and the numerous Gandhi Birth Centenary issues between 1968 and 1972, there was only one new issue of Gandhi stamps, as part of the USA Champion of Liberty Series in 1961.
