Postal History [ 1969 ]

Almanac

On September 10 1969, an Airmail issue from Egypt was dedicated for the Gandhi centenary, although his name was misspelt (Ghandi) by the designer.  The state symbols of India and Egypt are part of the design, since both countries had maintained close ties (under the non-aligned family of nations nurtured by Nasser and Nehru).
