A country comprising the three main islands and numerous islets of the Comoro Islands in the Indian Ocean off southeast Africa between Mozambique and Madagascar, The Federal Islamic Republic of Comoros was the first African nation to issue a Gandhi stamp in the 1990s.  The set included three other stamps- commemorating the 75th anniversary of the death of Ferdinand Zepplin, 25th anniversary of the death of Konrad Adenauer and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
